Between optical illusions and three-dimensional images, this museum invites interaction and photography in surprising environments. In this space, designed for all ages, it’s possible to enter works of art, fly over Lisbon in an airplane or even interact with a dinosaur, making the visit fun and memorable.

Museum of Illusions Lisbon (March 2025)

In the heart of Chiado, one of the city’s most emblematic areas, lies the surprising Museum of Illusions Lisbon. This space invites visitors to enter a world where nothing is exactly what it seems. The museum features around 20 interactive installations, including optical illusions, gravity-defying rooms and experiences that play with human perception.

MACAM – Museum of Contemporary Art Armando Martins (March 2025)

MACAM establishes itself as a new and important cultural center in Lisbon. Divided into four galleries, this museum houses the private collection of collector Armando Martins, comprising more than 600 works. Of these, 215 are part of the permanent exhibition, featuring national and international pieces of painting, sculpture, photography and video, from the 1970s to the present day.

MUDE – Museu do Design (Reopening in July 2024)

After being closed for eight years for renovations, MUDE reopened its doors in 2024 on the iconic Rua Augusta. The renovated Design Museum now has approximately 3,600 square meters of exhibition space, with a main gallery dedicated to long-term exhibitions and three secondary galleries. All this with a privileged view over the Baixa Pombalina, making the visit even more special for lovers of design and architecture.

Quake – Lisbon Earthquake Museum (April 2022)

Quake is an immersive experience that allows visitors to understand, in an engaging and educational way, one of the most significant moments in the city’s history: the earthquake of November 1, 1755. During a visit, visitors traverse ten rooms with simulators, interactive stations and immersive scenarios that recreate Lisbon before the earthquake and explain the science of earthquakes in a clear and accessible way.

Museu Banksy – Lisbon (June 2022)

Located in Picoas, the Banksy Museum – Lisbon is dedicated to one of the most influential urban artists of our time. The space brings together more than 100 reproductions of Banksy’s works, including graffiti, canvases, murals, projections and video installations, almost like a journey around the world to the streets where the British artist left his mark. The visit invites reflection on universal themes such as politics and society, in an impactful and visually striking experience.

Royal Treasure Museum (June 2022)

Located in the west wing of the Ajuda National Palace, the Royal Treasure Museum reveals some of the most valuable relics of the Portuguese Crown. Despite the rigorous and lengthy security process at the entrance, the visit is worthwhile for the opportunity to see a remarkable collection of goldsmithing and jewelry from the former Royal House. With over 900 pieces, this permanent exhibition, some of which were destroyed in the 1755 earthquake, is organized into 11 thematic sections, including gold and diamonds from Brazil, coins and medals of the Crown, royal insignia, honorary orders, diplomatic gifts and other emblematic pieces.
